SensFloor mats are based on the SensFloor system and feature proximity sensors. Therefore, they are detecting a person before he puts any weight on the mat. The mats are fabricated in different sizes according to the customer needs. The SensFloor mats are water-resistant sealed in PVC foils. Different surfaces are available: washable High-Twist Nylon pile in different colours or customized design with Velcro© tape fastened on the mat or easy-to-clean PVC surface in two different colours and suitable for use in hospitals.
A mat can respond to steps and switch on a light, control automatic doors or detect unauthorised intrusion. In care institutions, the alarm mat also signals leaving a bed or the room in the case of a person at risk of falling or afflicted with dementia. Use of the mats in safety-type applications such as access control systems, security checkpoints and revolving doors also provide the option of counting people. Static signal recognition and the system self-test option are particularly important characteristics for security and safety applications.
